Your Best Days are Ahead

Hey friend,
How are you doing? Not just the surface-level “fine” we say in passing, but truly—deep down—how are you? We all need to pause once in a while and ask ourselves this question.
I’m an internal processor—quiet by nature, not one to share my heart with just anyone. In fact, I have a tendency to self-isolate, which isn’t always a good thing. And if I’m honest, sometimes I don’t even know what I’m feeling deep down. We need others to help draw it out. We need to share life with people we trust. But more than that, we need to bring our deepest concerns to God—the One who loves us beyond measure.
I often return to the story of Hagar in the Old Testament (Genesis 16 & 21). She was Sarah’s maidservant, and when she became pregnant, Sarah mistreated her so badly that she fled into the desert, ready to give up.
But God showed up. He called her by name and assured her that she was not alone.
And in that moment, Hagar did something remarkable—she gave God a name. She called Him El Roi, which means the God who sees me. She realized that her life, her story, her pain—they all mattered to Him.
I believe God is still speaking across centuries, whispering to you and me: I see you. I know you. I have a good plan for your life. It’s not over—your best days are ahead.
If you were to name God today, what would you call Him? Would it reflect who He is to you in this season? Would it capture His power and faithfulness in your life? Write it down. Put it on your fridge or your mirror. Let it remind you that you are seen, known, and loved.
If you're feeling doubtful that God sees you, here are some ways to reconnect with Him:
Meet with a godly friend who will listen and care.
Remember the ways He has been with you in the past.
Strengthen your hope by practicing gratitude.
Call Him by a new name—one that reflects His character in your life—and lean on Him in prayer.
